The late Carlton Peason's death probably has shocked some in the Pentecostal, WOF, charismatic world, but if anyone noticed. His death was acknowledged, but the many true believers in Christ refused to celebrate Carlton because of his dramatic turn from the Scriptures and the Lord some 20 years ago.
Preaching a false gospel of inclusion of homosexuals (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-11), and no punishment of hell for sinners (see Revelation 20:11-14).
Clear anti biblical positions.
Is God sadistic?
The devil is always trying to paint God as the One that's evil.
After death, people now know that God isn't "sadistic."
Carlton's death was expected because over the last 20+ years, he had prostate cancer.
But what wasn't expected was his dramatic turn from the Scriptures.
There's many that hoped that on his death bed, he'd repented.
There's no evidence of any death bed repentance especially with Larry Reid and E. Bernard Jordan there at his side while he was cognizant.
What opens the door to perverting and twisting Scripture?
When one takes liberty in changing the Word and replaces it with one's thinking and perverted interpretation.
Sadly, the predominant place where this occurs is in the WOF/charismatic circles and they call it "revelation knowldge" partly initiated from E. W. Kenyon.
Where some of them get this from is from Paul's teaching about receiving the gospel by "revelation." (see Galatians 2:1-10 and 2 Corinthians 12:1-6).
So since Paul received "revelation," we could too.
This is false teaching at its worse.
The mystery of Christ is revealed and the inspired or "God breathed" Scriptures is now in our hands. The Spirit of God guides us into all truth (see John 16:13 and 1 John 2:20, 27.), and any "extra Biblical" or outside the boundaries of Scripture teaching must be compared with the written Word of God.
"Test all things..." said Paul in 1 Thessaonians 5:21-22.
Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:17 that the believers in Ephesus be "granted the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him."
This verse of Scripture is where some of the revelation knowledge teaching originated.
The difference between then and now is the fact that the early church had no written instruction EXCEPT the OT.
The Lord Jesus, Paul, Peter, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, James, Jude, and the unknown physical author of Hebrews regularly referred to the OT.
Kenyon's book on "Two Kinds Of Knowledge," among others, opened the door to Scripture twisting. In fact, Kenneth E. Hagin was accused of plagarism when in Hagin's books, whole passages were used without giving Kenyon credit.
And as far as I know, while Hagin did admit to having read Kenyon's books, Hagin never gave Kenyon credit after the plagarism was discovered, let alone, rescinded his plagarism.
Paul and Peter warns the believers of perverting and twisting the Scriptures.
Galatians 1:6-8 (NKJV) "I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another;
but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed."
2 Peter 3:14-16 (NKJV) "Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—
as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand,
which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures."
Perverting and twisting the Scriptures has it's origins in the Garden of Eden in Genesis chapter 3. Paul, by the Holy Spirit, warns us that in the later days, that this would occur. The perverting and twisting of Scripture are "doctrines of demons and seducing spirits."
1 Timothy 4:1-2 (NKJV) "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron..."
We're further warned that evil men and imposters will come about.
2 Timothy 3:13 (NKJV) "But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."
So when it comes to the doctrine of inclusion from Carlton Pearson, we shouldn't be surprised.
Paul warned in Acts 20:29-30 (NKJV) "For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves."
And Jude, the brother of James, and both were half brothers of the Lord, issued a warning.
Jude 1:3-4 (NKJV) "Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ."
Peter warned in 2 Peter 2:1-3 (NKJV) "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies,
even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.
By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber."
The most shocking thing to me was that he stated that God was "sadistic."
Now just in case some of you didn't know what "sadistic" means, because I didn't know myself...
"Sadistic | səˈdistik | adjective deriving pleasure from inflicting pain, suffering, or humiliation on others."
Furthermore, from Wikipedia, as a noun, "sadism (countable and uncountable, plural sadisms)
(chiefly psychiatry) The enjoyment of inflicting pain or humiliation without pity.
Achievement of sexual gratification by inflicting pain or humiliation on others, or watching pain or humiliation inflicted on others.
(loosely) Deliberate or wanton cruelty, either mental or physical, to other people, or to animals, regardless of whether for (sexual) gratification."
It's origin is from French, "sadisme. Named after the Marquis de Sade, famed for his libertine writings depicting the pleasure of inflicting pain to others."
So when you can't see the Lord, it's very easy to bring an accusation against Him.
But when the Lord leaves His Word in the Bible, any accusations are quickly destroyed.
Does God take pleasure in the burning of people?
Let the Scriptures respond to the accusation.
But before we do, when watching judges on the bench, during the sentencing phase, post conviction, by law, they have to sentence the criminal convicted by a jury of their peers.
We don't have a problem with judges imposing sentence on criminals. However, we have a problem when God passes sentence on sinners that refuse to repent of sin.
Some will say, "That's different."
How?
The death penalty and then after death, eternal punishment?
That's "cruel and unusual."
This was directed towards Israel.
Ezekiel 33:10-11 (AMP)
"And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus you have said:
Truly our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we waste away because of them;
how then can we live?
Say to them, As I live, says the Lord God,
I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked,
but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live.
Turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?"
Remember the definition of "sadistic?"
When the Scriptures tell us that the Lord doesn't take pleasure in the death of the wicked, and one accuses God of being sadistic, someone is lying and Someone is telling the truth.
At the close of business, at the stroke of midnight, 150,000 persons will enter eternity.
They now know that God isn't sadistic.
"True and righteous are Your judgments O God."
Therefore, any accusations comes from the devil, the "accuser of the brethren" (see Revelation 12:10), who is a liar and the father of it (see John 8:44).
