Dr. Michael Brown released another statement to underscore that the sexual tone of his acts were "alleged and lies or misinformation." But wait. A person named Erin disclosed the incidents. Now we understand that a 3rd party independent investigation is underway, but Michael Brown never denied the allegations. Now Erin isn't the only woman.
It's alleged that the husband of the second woman, who since has passed away in 2021, told his story about how Michael Brown would call his wife and they would say lewd things between each other.
We must think that God is blind and that He doesn't see all things.
John 2:24-25 (NKJV)
"But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man."
Psalms 139:7-12 (NKJV) "Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me;
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You."
Ezekiel 8:11-12 (NKJV) "And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan. Each man had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up.
Then He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols?
For they say, The LORD does not see us, the LORD has forsaken the land.’”
Michael Brown released a statement that lacked denial of the incident. You will note the colorful words to give the appearance that he lacked judgment but he also blames it on people that put content out on YouTube.
Granted.
Some YouTubers do go overboard, but when the content is Michael Brown's own words and the words of others that's involved, it's just fair reporting.
You could see Dr. Michael Brown's latest statement posted (12/18/24) here.
You will observe that in his statement that there's no denial.
He's only giving his statement because he got caught.
You never hear any of them use the very Scriptures that identify their sin. I know. I DID THE SAME THING.
I would never preach these Scriptures below because it convicts the heart. Or every now and then, I would say the word "sin" and that would appease my conscience, but the heart of God is never deceived. He sees our hypocrisy.
The purpose of the statement is to get out ahead of the results of the investigation and to search for away to resume ministry. To soften the blow, but we now see that any coverup is just as wicked as the act. While he may have discontinued pulpit ministry, he's still doing podcasts, but not as frequent.
Each year, prominent preachers, prominent and non prominent "leaders" in the Body of Christ, have been exposed in one way or another.
Robert Morris, Steve Lawson, Mike Bickle, Benny Hinn, and Todd Bentley, just to name a few.
It's in both camps. The charismatics and reformed cessationists.
Strange fire and Authentic fire is under God's fire.
Pun intended.
We don't have a problem. It's an epidemic pattern. All one has to do is read Revelation chapters 2 and 3.
The pattern is simple.
James 1:14-15 (NKJV) "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death."
The mind of man drives his fantasies. A fantasy is a thought or "the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable..."
In other words, it's the ability to imagine what you would do, given the situation, and you set out to fulfill that fantasy.
Porn works the same way. Dr. William Strutthers, a neuroscientist, once said that porn "hijacks the brain." When the mind isn't guarded, it's very easy to yield to the thoughts that's ungodly.
These are "unguarded moments."
Moments where the mind wanders or drifts from the Scriptures.
Michael Brown is a married man that allegedly played out his secret sexual thoughts with other women. It's not to be taken as if he never asked his wife to fulfill these imaginations. If his wife turned down his requests, that's still no excuse to pursue another woman to have these sexual fantasies fulfilled.
Even if no sexual intercourse took place, the acts are sexual in nature. Kissing, holding hands, slapping the rear of Erin (not her real name), sitting on his lap.
Michael Brown called it things that a father would do with his daughter.
The only time my daughter was in my legs not near sexual organs, was when he was a very young child. After that stage. No more. Kiss on the cheek, never the lips. Holding hands while walking her to elementary school.
That’s it.
This is common behavior in public with a father and daughter.
But as a grown woman? No!
Michael Brown lusted after other women by being "...drawn away by his own desires and enticed."
A woman doesn't have to always do the provocation.
She could be dressed in normal clothing but the man will entertain sexual fantasies from within himself and or when it’s demonically suggested.
Michael Brown's desires weren't crucified and he lacked self control.
Now it would be something if these allegations were determined to be untrue and that nothing happened. We would be forced to put out blogs and videos, retracting everything that we may have said. However, the odds of this happening are very slim, given that Erin came out with her story.
The going rate is that when a person brings an accusation, you have to defend against what a person said. Usually, the going rate is that when you know that it's not true, you have every right to sue them for defamation and slander.
But when they're true, you have no defense, even if you do what TD Jakes had done in light of what's happening with Diddy. Bring a defamation lawsuit against a convicted sexual felon. Time will tell if Jakes is telling the truth or not.
Michael Brown, should the allegations prove true, failed.....
Galatians 5:23-24 (NKJV) "...gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."
When we lack self control, there's no sexual sin that we wouldn't do.
One thing leads to another.
Sexual sins will take you further than you're willing to go, cost you more than you're willing to pay, and keep you longer than you're willing to stay.
Colossians 3:5-6 (NKJV)
"Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience..."
If we don't kill it, it will kill you. "...and sin, when it is finished brings forth death," "the soul that sins, it shall die," unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish," and "the wages of sin is death..."
These desires and evil thoughts (evil imaginations and wicked fantasies) come from within the heart.
Matthew 15:18-20 (NKJV)
"But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
The sexual acts with the wife, within reason, isn't evil thoughts. The thought of fulfilling these fantasies with another woman that's not your wife is.
Matthew 5:27-28 (NKJV)
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Their secrets were revealed as with David.
2 Samuel 12:12 (NKJV)
"For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’”
Psalms 90:7-9 (NKJV) "For we have been consumed by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are terrified. You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance. For all our days have passed away in Your wrath: we finish our years like a sigh."
When I was in the world of pornography for 10 years, the footsteps of the Lord were getting close. To keep it a secret wasn't enough. After watching a pastor in Texas revealed his secret sexual sin on CNN, it proved to be a turning point for me to repent (turn) and come clean.
Before the church, I've laid it all bare. It was a very painful moment for my wife and most importantly, before the Lord. I didn't want the Lord to expose it because He would do a thorough job and I would have no choice but to leave the ministry.
If I tell it, the Lord has no story to tell about me.
With Michael Brown, these alleged incidents took place around 2001, over 23 years ago, and he kept it hidden from the Body of Christ at large. Like Steve Larson, he kept his secret with a woman that's in her 20's a secret for 5 years. With Robert Morris, he allegedly committed a crime and kept it hidden for 40 years. With Mike Bickle, he kept his secret sexual sins hidden for two decades plus.
The sin could be dealt with, but when you keep it a secret, it's a deliberate act to deceive.
Even if you don't see the harm because it would harm your ministry, it's just best to tell the story before the Lord tells the story.
It took Erin to tell the story to flush out Michael Brown. If Erin had kept silent, Michael Brown would have kept it silent.
Most people believe that if we keep it a secret and repent in private, the issue is solved, but it isn't. The issue isn't settled. It's when you "confess your faults to one another" and clear the air, that the conscience is now cleared.
It's painful. It ruins your reputation when for years Michael Brown had put out books and articles on homosexuality and transgenderism, but all of a sudden, the secrets of the past surface. This is called hypocrisy.
You can't talk about the sins of others when you have unexposed sin in your own life.
There's only two reasons why preachers cover up the sin.
ONE. To stay employed to avoid losing money.
TWO. To maintain your reputation.
The purpose of true repentance ("godly sorrow that works repentance, leading to salvation") is to clear the air with God and with those you preach to.
But living a "blameless" life is much preferred.
To live a life of secrecy and no transparency only invites the Lord to warn you. And if we fail to heed the warning, the merciful act of exposure occurs. For others, it's worse.
They die a death that's unfortunate. Much like when Paul was told that a man was having sex with his own mother. His body was turned over to satan for the destruction of the flesh so that his spirit would be saved in the day of the Lord (see 1 Corinthians 5:1-8).
Eventually, the man committing incest apparently repented as probably told us in 2 Corinthians, but when sin remains covered and unrepentant, this is a severe penalty to bring the fear of God back into the Body of Christ.
Psalms 66:18 (NKJV)
"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear."
When the fear of the Lord is absent, we have no problem with sinning.
Finally, when we keep secrets, the only remedy is to uncover everything so that the Lord doesn't uncover it all.
Otherwise, He has no choice but to expose it.
Luke 12:2 (NKJV)
"For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known."
Ephesians 5:11-15 (NKJV) And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.
Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”
John 3:19-21 (NKJV) "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
