Gaza: What Really Happened?

During the early morning hours of Saturday, October 7, 2023, Palestinian terrorist (Hamas) made an unprecedented attack on Israel in Gaza which is located southwest of Israel, just north of Egypt.

This attack caught Israel by surprise. Or perhaps there may have been a lackadaisical or deliberate refusal to pass any intelligence up the chain of Israel's command. At this point, it's very speculative. Coupled with the fact that the nation was on Sabbath, coupled with a high holy day.

Nonetheless, hundreds of Israelis were killed, over 100 Israelis were kidnapped and taken to Gaza. 2000 Israelis were wounded and operations are continuing. Over 400 Palestinian terrorists were killed.

The Word and their own Torah has the answer to this dastardly attack.

A FB poster reiterated what's been said by myself and others.

It's not the answer you want to hear but it's the answer in the Word of God.

Sadly, we don't understand what we read in the Word of God and our ignorance underscores our complete lack of Biblical comprehension.

But it's never too late to mature in the Scriptures.

GAZA: PALESTINIAN THORN IN ISRAEL’S SIDE

Not all Jews have rejected Christ.

There’s the Messianic Jews that received Jesus as the Messiah.

The 3 main divisions of Jews are Conservative. Reform. Orthodox.

Just as in every society, many don’t believe in Christ as the Jewish Messiah that the Scriptures prophesied would come.

Not one false prophet picked up on operation Al Aqsa Storm.

I’ve pointed these Scriptures out years ago and it’s refreshing to see others look at the Gaza incident the same way.

Exodus 33:1-3

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Depart and go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying,

To your descendants I will give it.' And I will send My Angel before you, and I will drive out the Canaanite and the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.

Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people."

Some of you aren’t convinced.

Obviously.

Israel has failed to drive them out.

Numbers 33:55-56

"But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you,

then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell.

Moreover it shall be that I will do to you as I thought to do to them.'"

Disobedience comes with a price and on 10/7/23, 50 years from the Yom Kippur War, the price is paid.

The command from the Lord in their Torah was neglected and rejected.

The attack happened on a high holy day that coincided on the Sabbath.

“This year, Simchat Torah will be taking place on the evening of Saturday 7 October till Sunday 8 October.

Simchat Torah is observed on the 22nd to 23rd of Tishrei (Tishrei is the first month of the Jewish year).”

What is Simchat Torah? The re-rolling of the Torah back to the beginning. But read what was found in Wikipedia...

"Simchat Torah or Simhat Torah (שִׂמְחַת תּוֹרָה‎, lit., "Rejoicing with/of the Torah", Ashkenazi: Simchas Torah) is a Jewish holiday that celebrates and marks the conclusion of the annual cycle of public Torah readings, and the beginning of a new cycle. Simchat Torah is a component of the Biblical Jewish holiday of Shemini Atzeret ("Eighth Day of Assembly"), which follows immediately after the festival of Sukkot in the month of Tishrei (occurring in September or October on the Gregorian calendar).

The main celebrations of Simchat Torah take place in the synagogue during evening and morning services. In many Orthodox as well as many Conservative congregations, this is the only time of year on which the Torah scrolls are taken out of the ark and read at night. In the morning, the last parashah of Deuteronomy and the first parashah of Genesis are read in the synagogue.

On each occasion, when the ark is opened, the worshippers leave their seats to dance and sing with the Torah scrolls in a joyous celebration that can last for several hours.

The morning service is also uniquely characterized by the calling up of each member of the congregation for an aliyah. There is also a special aliyah for all the children."

Furthermore......"The name Simhat Torah was not used until a relatively late time. In the Talmud (Meg. 31b) it is called Shemini Atzeret."

Simchat Torah means "Rejoicing with/of the Torah"

Shemini Atzeret means "Eighth day."

We Christians do the same thing. We rejoice, acting like all is well but live in deliberate sin and disobedience. We "read" the Scriptures, but we don't do the Scriptures.

"But be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." James 1:22

The attack wasn’t a coincidence.

It was deliberately scheduled by Hamas, financed by Iran through the United States. Humanitarian money, earmarked for Palestinians, purchased many of the tools that were used in the ongoing terrorist attacks.

A lot of believer, including myself is ignorant of the Word of God in most places, especially when it comes to the Jewish laws that Israel follow.

There's no question that difficulty exists in comprehending Jewish laws, but that's why Christ came. Believing in Christ by faith simplifies salvation.

"For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

We can pray for the Jewish nation according to Psalm 122. We can pray that the Lord send laborers into His harvest according to Matthew 9:37-38.

But there's one thing that's certain. There's no undermining the will of God as He is God.

There's no undermining the punishment for disobedience to God's commandments.

We can ask the Lord for mercy and compassion. Lord, "In wrath, remember mercy." From Habakkuk 3:2b.

We can send funds to trusted organizations that will get help to the Israelis and the innocent Palestinians.

Not one false prophet picked up on operation Al Aqsa Storm.

There's only one thing that you can rely on with false prophets. They'll be wrong 100% of the time, and they know not the ways of the Lord. False prophets are blatant liars and they're on their way to a burning hell. Don't go with them.

When a false prophet starts out by saying "God showed me something," when you know that what they said isn't lining up with Scripture, stop listening to them.

God never sent a false prophet, let alone, showed them "something."

You don't have to be gullible. Proverbs 14:15, 30:6, Revelation 21:8.

Bible prophesy is unfolding at a much faster pace than before. This is not the time to be without a seat when the music stops.

Pay attention for a change and depart from false doctrine.
