Many people that study end time prophesy, also known as eschatology which means last or study of the last days, are aware of the end time players that will emerge during the final week of Daniel's 70th Week prophesy (Daniel chapter 9).
In fact, the word "last" in Hebrews 1 is where we get the word "eschatos."
There's other places where this word is found, but for now..................
Hebrews 1:1-2 (NKJV) "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds..."

Ezekiel 38:1-5 (NKJV) "Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet;"
Since 1979, Iran has been rising (the 444 days of Iran holding 52 U.S. hostages), except during the time that Iraq, under Saddam Hussein, kept this power in check. Iran feared Iraq but this "check" (Saddam Hussein) in the region was removed during the war with Iraq under the George W. Bush administration just after the 9/11 attacks called the war on terror. But the war with Iraq was called the Iraq War or Gulf War 2.
Now that Iraq was subdued, with the limited acts of ISIS, Iran now has a free hand to exercise almost unchecked power that endangers Israel.
Now for those that don't know, the Iranians are the Persians.

Remember Daniel chapter 2, the successions of power that leads to the everlasting kingdom of Christ?

Remember the dream Nebuchadnezzar had of the statue of gold, silver, bronze, iron, iron and ceramic clay in Daniel chapter 2?
Babylon (Nebuchadnezzar). Head of gold.
Medes & Persia (Cyrus). Arms and chest of silver.
Greeks (Alexander the Great). Belly and thighs of bronze.
Romans (Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus named Octavian). Legs of iron, then feet and 10 toes of iron and clay.
The reason why I made mention of this is to emphasize the accuracy of the Bible.
The Lord knows the nations that will be the players in the end times.
We shouldn't be surprised at the events that's unfolding before our eyes.
The war in Gaza (Hamas) is supported by Iran.
The conflict in Syria is run by Iran assisted by Russia.
The war in Lebanon (Hezbollah to the north of Israel) is run by Iran.
I want to keep this brief and not overwhelm you with information. What's been shared so far should be enough to at least give you an understanding as to why the Middle East is shaping up the way it is.
The 2024 US elections has a lot more to do with the Middle East. The last 2 things have been unfolding.
The subduing of Hamas in Gaza.
The peace treaty (Abraham Accords).
Which may usher in the 3rd piece to the puzzle.
The building of the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem.
Israel has committed to establishing settlements in Samaria and East Jerusalem, further underscoring Israel's commitment to further establish the nation of Israel as the sole owners of the land that the Lord gave to Abraham.
And this paves the way for the coming of the Messiah at the end of the final week of Daniel's 70th Week prophesy. But during the final week, more so during the second half of the final week, the Jews will experience a time of tribulation never seen before (see Jeremiah 30 and Daniel chapters 9, and 12 known as "Jacob's trouble" during the "abomination of desolation" (see Matthew 24:15).
So keep an eye on Israel and Iran.
