Zechariah 12:1-3 (NKJV) "The burden of the word of the LORD against Israel. Thus says the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him:
“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it."
Luke 21:20 (NKJV) “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near."
I've shared these Scriptures because to many people, it's boring to study difficult passages regarding how the end would come.
Granted, the pieces on the chess board are moving. For some, it's moving too slowly, but for others, it's moving very rapidly.
There's three things to consider how all of this is going to end.
But first, the NT Scriptures is very clear that a 3rd Temple must be built (see Daniel 9:27, Daniel 11:31, Daniel 12:11, Matthew 24:15, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11, and 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12).
In order for the Antichrist to stand in the holy place, you have to have a Temple built to have a holy place.
Does this make sense?
In Israel, there's a place called The Temple Institute.
They're prepared to perform OT sacrifices like they were able to perform before the destruction of the 2nd Temple in AD 70 (see Matthew 24:1-4).
So how will the building of the 3rd Temple come about?
First, the Dome of the Rock must be dismantled.
How?
Consider the possibilities.
EARTHQUAKE.
At least on a few occassions, earthquakes have been felt in Jerusalem.
In fact, in 808 AD, 846 AD, 1015 AD, 1033 AD, 1837, and 1927 were the recorded earthquakes on or around the Temple Mount area.
After the Lord returns on the Mount of Olives, there will be an earthquake that would split the Mount of Olives so that the children of Israel would escape the worst persecution of Jews such as never before would occur (see Jeremiah 30:6-7, Daniel 12:1, and Matthew 24:15-28).
Zechariah 14:3-5 (NKJV) "Then the LORD will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south."
Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee
As you fled from the earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah."
But before the Second Coming of Christ….
Matthew 24:16-22
“then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.
But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”
But this is post great tribulation period of 3.5 years.
Which means that the 3rd Temple will already have been built.
So could it be possible that a missile strike by accident or on purpose be possible?
2. MISSILE ATTACK(S).
Highly unlikely? Don't be so sure.
The Houthis have lauched missiles into Israel. At anytime, a missile could have a malfunction and hit the Dome of the Rock.
Recently, Yemen have launched rockets towards Israel. I understand that it may be highly unlikely because of the guidence systems on many ballistic missiles, but remember the Iron Dome Defense system.
It may hit these rockets with a 95% success rate but it can knock one missle off course and where it lands is where it lands. Just like a couple of days ago when an Iron Dome rocket hit the missile but the warhead exploded in an uninhabited area.
An intentional hit on the Dome can’t be ruled out and it could be used to incite anger towards Israel and blame Israel for it.
And they've found a way to defeat the Israeli defense systems by overwhelming the capability of the Iron Dome and other defenses.
We must understand that hundreds and thousands of rockets have been launched from Lebanon, Gaza, and now from the east countries of Yemen.
What would happen if one rocket hit the Dome of the Rock?
It would give Israel a good reason to remove the rubble of the Dome of the Rock and build the 3rd Temple.
Or even in the face of upsetting the Middle East, ISRAEL JUST BOLDLY DESTROY THE DOME OF THE ROCK THEMSELVES AND BUILD THEIR TEMPLE.
It's possible because International pressure to make Israel enter an untenable cease fire against Hamas hasn't worked. Israel ignored the pressure and Hamas is breathing its last.
The status quo of Muslims, Jews, and Christians are allowed to pray on the Temple Mount is part of the status quo. However, more Jews and Christians have been on the Temple Mount in recent times to pray.
The Jews ache for the day when the Temple will be built but the Dome of the Rock and the Arab world in the Middle East will have to somehow agree in a treaty for this to happen (Abraham Accords).
3. A PEACEFUL DISMANTLING OF THE DOME OF THE ROCK.
The Abraham Accords might be the device used. Recently, more Arab states have been making peace with Israel, but will it lead to a peaceful dismantling of the Dome?
It's possible.
That's why in the United States, the 2024 election may be the most pivotal election of our times.
It's not just America.
In Trump's first term, he started no conflicts. The world was quiet and the Middle East was directly affected.
Trump knows how to keep the world quiet through diplomacy, military, and economic arm twisting. It worked. And everyone knows it. Now does it have to be Trump? God uses whoever He wants to get His will done. Assassination attempts on Trump's life are increasing. They're getting blatant and bold.
It's not going to be easy because of the bad actors in the United States.
Could God build the Temple without Trump?
There's nothing too hard for God.
But for real believers, we're watching the Middle East because when the Temple is built, sacrifices resumes after Israel signs a treaty with the Antichrist. Then in the middle of the week, the Antichrist will cease sacrifice and offering (Daniel 9:27) and Revelation 13:11-18, the Great Tribulation for 3.5 years will be underway.
Keep your eyes on the 2024 Election, but also keep your eyes on the Middle East.
